UNICEF and Imperialism for the 21st Century

It’s Halloween again, and all the cute little kids have dressed up in their cute little costumes. Some are going as ghosts, some as witches, clowns, or any number of other possibilities. Aside from the common theme that all kiddies will be dressed in a costume, most will also be bringing along their UNICEF box.

I remember quite well as a child getting the UNICEF box in school and being told by the teacher that we were going to be collecting money to help people in Africa. Being a child I really didn’t know any better and I was more excited at the prospect of being able to fold the lines on the box and put it together than thinking about what it meant to collect money for people in Africa. Halloween was an exciting time back then, everything was fun and very innocent, so I thought.

As an Adult, looking back on those times, all I can think about when I see a UNICEF box now is what a stain it has left on my otherwise fond childhood memories of Halloween. Let us set aside, for a moment, the fact that at a time in my life when I was not yet able to make informed, rational decisions based on beliefs I had not yet formed, I was used to solicit money from private households. I would like to, instead, concentrate on a problem that makes the theft of my innocence pale by comparison.

I remember the message was the same then as it is now. People tell me how wonderful it is that we are helping the poor in developing nations. We are building schools in these countries, bringing them food, and helping them learn English and better themselves. I get called a lot of names for telling people that we should not be helping UNICEF, or doing what we are doing in their countries. I am told I must be racist because I don’t want to help those poor people, or I am simply ignorant and not worth discussing the topic with. Other names I get called do not really need to get mentioned here, but the message is clear; I am a racist, ignorant, selfish individual. I wonder if these people have, or will ever, realize how unbelievably arrogant and vain they are?

If I were to go back in time and parade my children around wearing a box to collect money for the abduction of North American Indian children to send to Catholic schools would that be heralded as a good deed? Hundreds of years ago when we first started to colonize North America, we took it upon ourselves to help the poor Native people. I mean for god’s sake, they don’t even speak English! Their beliefs were pagan, they lived in tents, had limited technology, no pornography or alcohol; good grief how can that even be considered an existence? So now that we helped those people to live in an enlightened society, our society, they are much better off than they were, right?

I’m sure if you ask one of them, you’ll probably discover that they are not really happy with us for this good deed. Are they happier now that they have Reserves and what passes for housing? Are they happier now that they can drink at bars, gamble, speak English, eat at McDonald’s, get a job, get a loan, pay taxes, and live in a country that gets ever more polluted by our glorious technology?

Well, undaunted by our impressive failure to force a people to adopt our culture and civilization we have moved on to bigger and better things. Now, under the pretense of helping starving people in Africa, we have been over there forcing our culture, and way of life, down more people’s throats. There is nothing more on this planet that I believe in than the right of all people to be left alone and self-determine. I know what you’re thinking, yes, that is an incredibly racist idea. The mind-blowing arrogance of people to believe that by turning other cultures into us that we improve their way of life is just astonishing.

For starters, language is the method by which we express ourselves. Different languages cause people to express themselves in a different manner, and that in turn causes people to produce an identity that we call culture. If we come along and force them to learn a new language then we have destroyed the first building block of their culture. Who are we to decide that these people can only be enlightened by learning English and being given basic North American schooling. Are the African people going to be better off when a McDonalds opens in Rwanda? Will they be better off when they can get a job at the new Toyota manufacturing plant that opens there to exploit their cheap labour? Will they be better off when they sign their first mortgage with a bank so they can work at Toyota to pay off the loan they never had before? Will they be better off when industry and manufacturing has completely destroyed and polluted their land?

The population explosion in Africa is another consequence of our interference in their culture. If a tribe in Africa is left alone and not given free food by our nations, they do not reproduce beyond their means to sustain themselves. Our interference in this natural process has caused, without a doubt, almost all the suffering in Africa over the last one hundred years. By causing their population to increase ten fold in Africa, and producing the now starving people dependant on us for food, have we not actually caused almost all the suffering now taking place on that continent?

We are forcing our culture down the throats of people that probably want to be left alone, and would be far better off without our interference. The arrogance we display by deciding for these people that they would be far better off with our way of life is staggering. We send our kids out with collection boxes to raise money to destroy other cultures. I do not think I am being overly dramatic when I make this claim. This is nothing more than Imperialism for the 21st Century.

If a tribe in Africa is happy with their level of sophistication and has not yet advanced technologically to our level, who are we to come along and decide that their culture is backwards, or worthless, and change it? If those people are perfectly happy the way they are, and want to be left alone to self-determine, why do we not allow them to do so. I can answer this question quite easily.

While we pat ourselves on the back for whoring out our children to collect money for private enterprise, the same people that have economically enslaved us with never ending debt have set their sights on the poorest continent on the planet. People who are not purchasing products, working for slave wages, or paying down a loan of some kind for another’s profit are rather useless to private enterprise. They must be sent to school, learn English, learn what debt is, and learn basic math. Without these skills how will they be able to work at a Microsoft call center? If they cannot work at a call center how are they ever going to pay off all the loans that the Banksters are going to leverage against them until the day they die so they can have all the modern conveniences. Think of all the new customers that credit card companies will have so that Africans can load their houses with all the same useless garbage that we have?

Oh Man! It’s a profit driven capitalist dream! Just think, a billion people that have not yet been exploited, driven into never ending debt, and who are not watching television yet. I’m sure Wall Street is just salivating over the potential for investment fraud and theft of national wealth that they could achieve there.

Let me clue some of you in on a little bit of valuable information. UNICEF is an institution of the United Nations. The International Monetary Fund, World Bank and World Health Organization are also institutions of the United Nations. The World Bank and IMF specialize in protecting special interest groups and facilitating the exploitation of the natural resources of any nation that has something valuable. Under the pretense of ‘helping’ that nation the World Bank gives them a loan, or credits with that bank that don’t really exist, that can be used to hire foreign companies to come and build infrastructure, purchase weapons, food, or anything else that they believe they need. The ‘loans’ are designed to burden the nation with ever increasing payments until finally the nation becomes Bankrupt, cannot repay the loan, and must default. That is when the vultures swoop in and pick the nation clean of anything there is of value. The people are subjected to abject poverty, and slave wages, to continue to pay off the interest on the loan until the day they die while their standard of living continually falls because private Banksters have stolen their national wealth, and resources.

Does this sound familiar? It should since it was done to our countries more than seventy years ago. The first Great Depression was the first market crash, orchestrated and carried out by the same organizations, to loot our nations and subject us all to never ending debt and taxes. Now we strap a cardboard box to our children and send them around collecting pennies as a form of indoctrination, to begin the process of mind control on them, making us believe ourselves to be good people for bringing this new form of slavery to a whole new continent.

The Federal Reserve of the United States of America, and the Bank of Canada are both private banks and are branches of the World Bank, another privately owned bank, which are all institutions of the United Nations. The United Nations is the organizational body of the ultra rich, ruling class of families in the world that need us to stay poor so they can stay rich. This is done through never ending debt, taxes and the purposely poor education that we receive in the schools they fund to make sure we are only capable of two dimensional thinking and the ability to do as we are told by the Governments that they control.

Then again, what do I know? I’m just a selfish, racist and ignorant dick that believes people should not be slaves to a ruling class. So, don’t forget to strap on that little box come Halloween, and tell your kids what a good thing they are doing for the savages living in Africa. I mean for god’s sake, how are they ever going to owe money to the Banksters if they aren’t turned into consumer whores like us? Don’t forget to feel good about yourself as you fall asleep. Just like your forefathers before you kidnapped an entire generation of Indians, destroyed their culture, and transformed them into better people; so to do you help to bring this wonderful process of enlightenment to the poor people of Africa. They are poor obviously; they don’t even have credit cards.
